Dating in Berlin #3: Worst Online Dating Experiences

Gentlemen of Berlin! We asked single ladies to share their WORST online dating experience in Berlin. Read on and you will certainly find out what NOT to do. And you might even have a little giggle while you are at it čśë

  1. Susan, 35, Freelance Project Manager living in Neuk├Âlln: Ok Cupid – 1. married man, lied about his status, flirted outrageously, did not put out. 2. Said he was in an open relationship, actually his GF had said that an OR might be ok, hypothetically, several years ago, didn’t tell me he had a GF until after the 4th date+sex.
  2. Sara, 21, Student living in Neuk├Âlln: I met a guy also through Tinder. He is a nurse (it is important for the rest of the story) It was our 3 date and we were drinking in the bar, having fun and talking about general things, then he mentioned that in the hospital they are practicing for taking out blood of people, to play with him a little bit I told him that I would never trust him to take out blood of me and he answered that he will show me up later in his place. ALL OF THIS WAS IN A SUPER PLAYFUL TONE. After some more drinks I forgot about the blood situation and we ended up in his place. Then suddenly he take out his t shirt and I thought “ok kind of quickly but let’s do it” I was taking out mine when I turned around to see what he was doing and he was already with a needle in his arm ready to take out the blood!! We drank like 4 beers each so I screamed “WTF ARE YOU DOING?” he was totally confused he said “I told you I was going to show you that I can do it” I really just could standed next to him seeing the blood coming out. Thinking about maybe I need to improve my sarcasm because it was obvious that I was playing with him. We don’t talk anymore čśé
  3. Precious, 25, Student living in Friedrichshain: We met through Tinder. His bio mentioned something about liking yourself before liking others. I thought that was nice, even though his physical looks wouldn’t have done it for me. I gave him a right swipe just because… We start talking and decide to go to Hackescher Markt. During the date he makes comments about me not wearing a watch, which I dismissed – a few hours later he asks me “How poor are you?” I was baffled. When I replied I was living off my saving he asked “How much do you have in savings?”. He then continued to speak German to me when I told him I didn’t understand and I wouldn’t reply. Ended the date early. The day after he texts me (in German) and I told him I wasn’t feeling it and he said alright. We then stopped talking till a month later, when he asked what went wrong. I replied it was the date. He said alright. A week later he asked me if I was sure I don’t want to see him again. I told him the truth about how he’d made me feel and he said I must’ve misunderstood something. He was blocked after that.
  4. Ama, 30, Piercer living in Neuk├Âlln: Tinder, in the beginning he was a gentleman, we went to a bar, we talked quite a lot, after few drinks he started to push me to ho to toilet and give him a blowjob. The date was over.
  5. Annie, 30, Graphic Designer living in Sch├Âneberg: A catfish who had no manners and had an awful amount of dandruff and smelled bad when he arrived. That, and a guy who wanted a relationship and tried to manipulate me into it – I rejected him 3 times because I thought we could be good friends, but friends don’t do this lol.
  6. Lena, 30, Social worker living in Friedrichshain: Well, Tinder…we went for some dinner and we instantly didnt like each other. Still we had a drink, talked and went our way…so all in all it wasn’t that bad…I survived haha. Think I’m one of few girls who hasn’t had some awful experiences… at least so far haha.
  7. Valene, 33, Freelancer living in Prenzlauer Berg: Through Tinder we made a date one night. We had been chatting for over a week so i thought this could be good. He was to pick me up and it was never determined if we were going for a drink or dinner. About an hour before our date he messages me saying he could only meet for 20 minutes bc he already had plans to watch a football match w his friends. He literally picked me up in his car and we drove around for 20 minutes while chatting then he dropped me off again. What a waste of time and effort to even put clothes on. German guys are pretty boring also so the conversation was like listening to a 90 year old talk about going to the bank.

Dating in Berlin #2: Best Online Dating Experiences

Gentlemen of Berlin! Ever wonder what women consider a great online dating experience? Single ladies in Berlin share their stories, read on!

  1. Susan, 35, Freelance Project Manager living in Neuk├Âlln: OKC – dinner, lots in common, great company, he didn’t ask ‘so do you want to see me again’ to my face at the end of the date, he said ‘ I would really like to see you again, would you like to have dinner’ the next day by text. OKC – bar, best sex of the year, all night, that would be telling
  2. Sara, 21, Student living in Neuk├Âlln: I met a guy through Tinder and he was super clear from the beginning. He was just looking for fun. That was perfect for me in that moment so we both knew that the relationship had an expiration date. It was the best because I didn’t create false expectations and we really had a lot of fun. One of the best ones was in his place, after sex I asked him if we wanted to smoke some weed with me. We weren’t too high but we stayed up to watch the sunrise and after ended up watching transformers and talking about if we are living on the Matrix or not. Really nice guy. And of course the sex with him was great. We ended up dating for 9 months čśÇ
  3. Ama, 30, Piercer living in Neuk├Âlln: We used Tinder, he was much older, after three months of dating we moved in together and I got pregnant immediately. But we are happy about that.
  4. Precious, 25, Student living in Friedrichshain: App: Tinder. He was a super sexy student. Tall, blue eyes and smart as hell. Kind of a hippie but still a complete gentleman. He suggested we go to Mauerpark to watch the sunset (which is now my go to date during the summer) even though he doesn’t live in Berlin, and would be coming only just to meet me. We talked for a super long time and turns out he has baggage from his past relationship (shocker!). I was kind of into another tinder guy, but completely felt the spark with this guy on the second date. I tend to give guys a second chance. It would’ve only been a summer thing anyway, as I was moving back to London. We met a couple of times, had sex, then he ghosted me.
  5. Annie, 30, Graphic Designer living in Sch├Âneberg: On the 3rd date we went to G├Ąrten der Welt. He never forced anything physical on me and while he did talk a lot about himself, he also asked me questions to get to know me
